Classes

Classes offered 2009/2010 season

Ballet
Teaches complete body control, alignment and knowledge of movement.

Jazz
Teaches highly stylized body line as well as body control.
 
Modern
Teaches body control, movement awareness and self-expression
through dance.
 
Theatre
Teaches a child to be expressive through speech, song and personality.
 
Pre-School Classes
Introduce girls and boys ages 3-5 to basic ballet format, rhythmic games, gross and fine motor skills, tap dance and song routines and especially an appreciation and joy of music and movement.

Monday 

3:30 to 4:15  - 3 year old Tiny Toes  with Miss Christine

3:45 to 4:45  4 yr. olds - Pre=Ballet, Crreative Movement/pre-ballet/tap - Pink

4:45 to 5:45  5 & 6 yr. olds - Ballet & Tap - Pinks

5:45 to 6:45  7 -10 Ballet, Tap and Optional Jazz Periwinkle II & Navy Combined

6:45 to 7:15 p.m. Advanced Tap

7:15 to 8:15 - Eclectic Intermediate II Ballet 

8:15 to 8:45 Intermediate Jazz

Tuesday

4:15 p.m. to 5:15 - 6 to  8  yr. olds  Ballet & Tap Periwinkles II

5:15 to 6:15  3 & 4 yr. olds - Tiny Toes with Miss Christine

 5:15 to 6:45 - Intermediate I -  Ballet, Tap & Jazz -  Navy

6:45 to 7:45 - "Girls just wanna Have Fun"

Wednesday

4:30 to 5:30  6 - 8 Ballet & Tap - Periwinkle I leotard

5:30 to 6:30   4 & 5 yr. olds - Pre-Ballet  & Tap  - Pink leotard

5:30 to 6:30 5 & 6 yr. olds - with Miss Christine Pink Leotard New dancers

5:30 to 6:30 - 6 to 12 yr olds Musical theatre

6:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Advanced Ballet & Pointe - Black leotard

8:00 to 8:45 p.m. - Advanced Jazz

 

                    
                                                    POLICIES

WHAT TO WEAR TO DANCE
Each level wears a different color uniformed leotard that is sold at Danceworld on 20th Street. 
 
Dancers may wear dance skirts (whites through periwinkles without bows, flowers or ties)

Ballet pink tights and ballet pink ballet slippers with strings knotted and cut are to be worn.

Tap shoes: 3 thru 7-year-olds wear black patent leather shoes with strings removed and black elastic used instead.

Older dancers need to ask individual instructor as to style of tap shoes.
 
Jazz shoes: Black split-sole jazz shoes.

Hair: Long hair must be up and away from face.
